Occasionally, you have to be happy with what you have in front of you. If you keep forcing an expectation of the Perfect World you will be, unless you’re extremely lucky, unlucky with the outcome. Found beauty is NOT settling for less. Rather, I find the “submaximal” to be sublime if I can only accept it.
My sunrise buddy Rich is at our roost, Plattsburgh Rotary Centennial Park this morning, capturing a KaBOOM! dawn (to be fair, all of his sunrise captures pop) while I am 13° to the west sitting in a Panda Express parking lot overlooking a burgeoning glow through a fence. We are both perfectly content, and see this the same and differently. No bias.

It’s all in how we look at it. Sunrise makes me feel artsier.
Ever since I worked the 0420 shift at the ferry, that hour is now when I wake. If the world takes a toll on my calm I lie there and doomscroll like a good little dopamine addict. It affects my entire day in a (insert how you feel about things) manner just as a person who sees all problems as nails acts more and more like a hammer, I am finding sunrises are making me glowy and inevitable. If I’m up I can choose to be consuming or producing. Too much theory for now. On with the rising🤩

Get out there and look up. Share what you see!
